My friend lands his H-295 Helio Super Courier at Dahlonga, Georgia, 2,500 with displaced thresholds, in a little canyon. Kinda tight, but a lot of fun!
It wasn't a tight landing but the crosswind was something. The airplane can operate out of 500 feet, you are correct. 500 feet is doable, but marginable at best. It's not something you would want to do on a regular basis I don't think. A lot of people do and end up with wrinkled Helios.

Cool video, but how was this a tight landing? (I had heard that Helio's are/were operated regularly in 500' clearings in Alaska, Canada etc.)
