Organum of the 4th

A demonstration of a Parallel organum tuning on a Chris Allen symphonie. My two chanterelles are tunes to G and the D below it, to give a medieval organum of the 4th, with a rather unusual sound. This tuning is far too underused in the gurdy world overall, as, when well tuned, it produces some lovely sounds.

Just checked my information - there are examples of Organum dating as far back as the 9th Century! Well before the first records of gurdies. So organum may have been used from the start.

Fantastic! I've very much enjoyed your videos about the symphony, useful and informative as I'm currently deciding whether to buy or make one. I like the parallel organum tuning, I've heard it before on some German Mittelalter Rock band CDs.
