Very nice engine. But how are the steam valves controlled? I can't see any rod...

how can i make 1 of this?
-
A little ball as a valve at the top of the motor. When the little pin on the cylinder pushes the ball open air enter the motor and pushes the piston down.

dude i would crank that thing up till it was like not even visible...then itd probably manifold though...itd be worht it.

It's condensed water dude!

Not oil per se...it is steam condensate (water) with a bit of lubrication oil mixed in. Steam engines always drip some water as the steam becomes water again.

must be a ball and pin valve like in an Airhogs motor?

No...they work by tipping the piston with each stroke, effectively dumping the exhaust at the split second the piston tips. This is made possible by a very thin piston less than 1/8 inch thick with tapered edges. They are a joy to see operate on air or steam.

That engine is tiny! Did you machine it or did you buy it assembled? Nice engine!

Hi Devin,
I wish I could say I machined that engine, but I have neither the skill nor the equipment to make such a thing. No, it comes from a small family machine shop operated by the Liney family...called Liney Machine.
I have a couple of them on my website, really nice work and reasonable prices.
