  • This was recorded in 1974 in Omaha. The King would have been 39 years old, at the top of his game, and Colonel Parker still has him playing one night stands in places like Omaha ???!!! What could Elvis have been if he had not been under the control of a side-show con artist like Col. Parker !

  • I agree that The Colonel was the worst manager ever! I'm sure he died with more than just $6,000,000, most of it not even in cash assets.

  • elvis problem was parker,he took 50% of the income.elvis spent money like water and was almost broke.he went on tour for the money and in the end this life style and boredom factor killed him.no challenge.A good manager for elvis and he would have lived longer and made 100s of more hits.he would have toured the world.parker cold not leave the usa as he was an illegal immigrant

  • actually you are correct. there is not a bigger fan of the King than myself. i had the blessing of seeing live just prior to this concert here. Elvis is at least half way at fault for his career decisions. alot of things that parker tried to set up for Elvis, Elvis would always back out at the last minute. so, even though i also do not like parker much, everything wasnt always his fault.

  • While it is partially the colonels fault,it is mostly Elvis's fault. He was a man that should have made his own choices.Taken control of his own career. So let's stop putting the entire blame on his manager. Now watch me receive all kinds of hate messages, that I will not read. :)

  • @fvilledutchman sad fact isnt it

  • @EddieJames1000 The "colonel" had Elvis crank out those lame-o flicks to finance his own gambling addiction. Elvis could have been a James Dean / Johnny Depp caliber actor if he'd auditioned for good roles but the colonel insisted he have top marquee billing, so what we got was shlock.

  • @EddieJames1000 bullSHIT, man. You got it totally assbackwards, absolutely. That is completely ridiculous. With all due respect you are insane. All Elvis needed was Elvis, and Scotty, Bill and D. J. That is all.

  • some people think the colonel made elvis, i dissagree, i think the colonel got where he got on the back of elvis' talent. dont forget elvis had two managers before and he out grew them. he fired the colonel in the seventies but found himself unable to get free from the contract because thats how the colonel had worked it.

  • @xxljrfan accually the colonel was the greatest manager, yes its true that he did push elvis, but if he never then elvis wouldnt have been the king of rock. the colonel made elvis what he was and even elvis himself said that he owes the colonel his whole career

  • Very great...:o)

  • Ao cantar esta canção, Elvis, naturalmente não tem mais a mesma energia de quando iniciou ou cantou-a pela primeira vez, entretanto, continua inigualável e inimitável como o maior nome da história das diversões públicas.
