Garbage Dump Ministry

Trujillo is located on the coast in northern Peru, with a population of about one million. The main ministry here in Trujillo is the garbage dump ministry. Inca Link has partnered with three Alliance churches in Trujillo, and in 2006 we asked these churches what they thought was the greatest need. They said a Day Care Center and an Orphanage were the greatest needs. In summer 2007, short-term mission teams help fund and build the Day Care Center, which now has over 60 children in attendance, while their parents work in the garbage dump. In 2008, we started building the orphanage, and hope to complete this by October 2010, with the ability to have about 75 children.
