@xxxwahshxxx I wish everyday that I could have a blue and gold macaw. I have 2 Sun Conures but I want a bird that could talk really well! If I got a Blue and Gold Macaw, I would probably name it Blu.

ok i have a question, are macaws like heavy on your shoulders? And do their claws hurt?

I do not think she is heavy to have on my shoulder. She only weighs about three pounds. The claws can hurt if the bird holds on really tight, but normal walking on your arm or perching on your arm is not to bad. We have been training her to fly to mom lately and she prefers to wear socks on her arms to deaden the bird's grip.

We bought Tommy second hand through a newspaper ad. There is also a 'mom and pop' pet store near our home that sells many exotic birds. Look for locally owned pet stores.
