The Model AC5 is a low power antenna tuner designed to
match random length wire antennas or antennas with
tuned feeders. The maximum power level is 10 watts.
OPERATION
Connect the transmitter to the jack on the rear of the
chassis. If a random length wire or any single wire
antenna is used, connect it to either antenna post.
Open wire or twin lead antennas are connected to both
terminals. The ground terminal should be connected to
a cold water pipe or other suitable ground. Clip the
capacitor leads symmetrically on either side of the
center of the coil. There is no way to accurately
predict which taps should be used. In general, the
coil and capacitor should resonate at the operating
frequency and the antenna tap adjusted for a match.
If a match cannot be obtained with one set of
capacitor taps, they may be changed and the antenna
taps readjusted
