Jimmy Raney---the very best of melodic bebop jazz guitarists and truly a master of jazz guitar. He has alway been my favorite guitar player. This video as a treat for me.
Something in the water of the Ohio River around Cincinnati/ Louisville that seems to have produced more of it's share of world-class guitarists. While attending Grad School at U.C.,I spent many a night listening to Cal Collins at the Original Blue Wisp Jazz Club in Obriensville, a suburb of Cincinnati. It's a real treat to see and hear him again.
