@jtkalehua The sprinkling is done on Easter to remind us of our baptism and new life, which is also why our baptismal rites are renewed on that day. Also, the penitential rite in the Pauline Mass can be replaced by the rite of sprinkling of holy water, much like the Asperges, except that it is a part of the Mass.

I love the asperges song. Its really beautiful.

The Asperges is being done before the Mass begins right? So how come in the Novus Ordo, they do the sprinkling during the Mass on easter?

All of civilisation, all of beauty, all of truth is contained in this service, new or old. The TLM just acts as if this were the case. ;)

Howcome in Europe people do not genuflect during the Asperges?

The Introit is really beautiful.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. In Evangelical Lutheran Worship, we have several variations of Kyrie in the Service Music Section. Just thought I'd post.
It's Septuagesima Sunday tomorrow! Hope they sing a Mass like this! Any idea the composer of this particular mass?

The Mass was composed by Rory Lucas, who is also the organist of this church in Edinburgh.
