  • @milesandolivia Even if we have the recording of Joachim, Oistrach is still unique and second to none.

  • That was absolutely superb! What a player he was!

  • There is so much magic attached to Oistrach and for good reason too. He was second to none, and this is clearly audible even though the noise and static of this old recording. I wished we'd have anything of Josef Joachim's performance of Beethoven's concerto. Then perhaps I would have said that Oistrach wasn't unique, but alas, we don't so I will leave it at that.
