2008 Elk Grove Cat 1/2: How to move through the pack

This video starts with 1 to go, just before the Uturn with a near crash. I'm in about 80th place and manage to move to first over the next mile - directly through the innards of the pack - at 2:13 I finally sprint clear and then find my way to sprint extraordinare Andy Crater's wheel. Andy Sprints up again at 3:17, and at 3:37 the pace picks up again. We slow after that and then the final accel to the line begins at 4:12. By then I'm dead and can't respond. Nonetheless this was a near perfect race: As Walden would say, "you have to get in position to win!"
