@goshops Understood. But like I said, pro-life is to abortion like 'pro-choice' is to abortion. Pro-choice is irrelevant to the debate over capital punishment, but I know what you are getting at. Still, because abortion and capital punishment involve completely separate presuppositions, innocence & guilt, they can be debated individually. The two are mutually exclusive and it is not hypocritical to take opposing stances on the two.

@Tracerisk It shouldn't only applied to aborition. Pro-life is pro-life regardless. Making exceptions to that, in the case of capital punishment, is wrong. Oh, he murdered 10 people he deserves to die. Oh, she was raped, she should be allowed to have an abortion.

Allow capital punishment and allow abortions or disallow both.

@goshops The term Pro-life is meaningful only to the abortion debate. However, as you said there is an understood difference between the life of an innocent and the life of an individual who heinously destroyed the lives of others. While all life is sacred, capital punishment is (arguably - hence the debate) justified in its use. On the other hand, I have yet to see a blanket argument that justifies abortion.

@Tracerisk Even if someone commits a crime worthy of punishment by death. Being pro-life (against killing), death penalty should also be a target of these for pro-life. Life is life and all life is sacred, which is what they claim. Whether it is an unborn fetus or a cold hardened murderous criminal. All life is sacred and should be treated as such.
