This film class for which this film was shot, had particular parameters. We, as film students, were required to chose a feature that we liked, and choose a scene from it to cast and shoot. But we weren't supposed to just copy the scene. We were to take the scene and put a different angle on it. We could switch the roles around, have a man play a woman's part, set it in a different time period we like. The whole point to the exercise was to teach us, as film students, to see things from a fresh angle, a different point of view. Once we cast our films, rehearsed them, costumed, etc, then we were required to shoot them in the sound stage in front of the whole class. Sounds easy? Well, to complicate the process, we were only allowed to use one camera, and it had to be shot straight through, from beginning to end - no stopping - even if we made a mistake. No pressure.
I chose the film classic, All About Eve. I set it in present day, and changed the Max Fabian character to a lesbian businesswoman. I also added a character, the costumer, played by Stacy Zulianni. Sooooo....the version here is the rehearsal just days before I had to shoot it in front of Dr. Cook and the class. (Side tide bite, since the script takes place in a sound stage, I used the sound stage as my set. If you look closely you will see the entire class standing in the corner to try and keep out of my shot. My camera man forgot to angle the camera up as he panned past them. Oh well.
WISH I WAS APART OF THIS!!!!!!
