  • I'll pass it on, Mark!! I haven't seen him around lately (on strike now). I tell him to "crank her up". I remember Tony was running a grapple when I first started in the bush back in 1979.

  • That is probably one of the best yarders every made, but, the idiot running it doesn't know what he's doing. So much wasted time and effort, sorry.

  • I would hate to tell Tony about your comment cuz he has been running grapple yarders for, I don't know, 2 0 years or more!

  • Madill 044. The largest grapple yarder made. handmade in nanaimo BC, The Madill family used to live across from my grandparents house in Nanaimo. My late uncle used to run a Madill 044 at Macmillan Bloedel Shawnigan operations in Duncan. They truly are a unbelieveable machine when they are wound out. The best ones used to be the 12V71 powered ones. You could make your line speed just PEAK really fast. Great video tho especially that 2nd good log. POST MORE!

  • Well, you know a lot more about the old Madill than I!!

  • Detroit diesel, cool!

  • Well I hooked G/Y plenty and if ol' Tony has run grapple yarder for 20 years then he ain't gonna get any better, and he doesn't look very good at all now. I mean that's excellent deflection, good back end lift, decent ground to build pile and he's dicking around like a beginner! Waste of diesel. Put some caulk boots on him and get an operator in there before you go broke.

  • whose the nerd

  • im not so sure if this was tonys day my dad runs a grapple yarder and ive been to work with him and he pulls in so much more in less time than tony does but hes been doing it for 37 years

  • Who was running that? The timekeeper?

  • Madill 044 wasn't the biggest yarder, the 144 was bigger.

  • Hey Dirk, tell "Tony" exactly what i said. Then show him the video, this was not his best day. That yarder should put 2000 bf to the landing every 3mins. Especially with good line of sight like he has. Im sure he's better now than he was then.
