'Covered In Rain' is probably the best song John Mayer has ever written. It was a follow up lyrically to his song 'City Love.' 'City Love was about a romance of a good friend of his. His friend had a girlfriend whose name was Lidya and the romance was set in New York City. When sadly 9/11 happened, John Mayer was compelled to write a new song which continued their love story.
