If you were elected President of the U. S., what would you do to help free Americans who are being held hostage in a foreign country? Hometown: Bradenton, Florida (40 miles south of St. Petersburg, FL, the host city for the debate.
Hi that is a good question, I was in washington D.C. May 14 2008 and met with Luis Perez one of the free hostages, that meeting was at the U.S.I.P, I have a humanitarian org. that is working to feed the poor in Colombia. I offer to take the place of any hostages that are sick, Howe or Betancourt thank you and God Bless.
Both are very bad policy as the first puts all in jeopardy of being taken hostage since the terrorists feel that they can use innocent Americans as leverage. The second puts your son at risk. I hope that a truce in hostilities encourages them to release but remember, the FARC are the bad people here; not America's President. Stay strong in your faith. In our prayers.

It would seem that there are only 2 options:
1. negotiate with terrorists
2. attempt a rescue mission

Not a bad question. You need to get it under 30 seconds though or they won't chose it.
