@foldedintobeauty3 I'm honoured that you want your daughter to share mine as well as your value in Karate. I believe we cannot reach that through sport. For me it should always be a personal journey rather than the pretty insignificant struggle to be praised above others. Since I began studying Karate I have only grown as a person, never judging others on their physical ability, only respecting them for their internal spirit. All the best to you and your daughter

@PnutButter1986 thanks for writing this. i hope this same feeling is shared by my daughter who is only 7 and just promoted to rank of Hatchi Kyu. I'm so proud of her and want her to have the best. when she is older she will be like you and finally understand on a deeper level.

If you are into Shotokan Karate. Youtube search : Sensei Fazliu Karate , and watch all the videos in his channel there is some really good stuff. His Kata's are coming soon
-
My sensei tells me that kata can be seen as a battle with one's self. After a year of training I think I am starting to understand. For me Karate is the battle with myself, every ounce of control over my entire body I can grasp, and that's the high I get from dojo kun. Great Channel
