The BMW 700 was a very successful car in the 50s and 60s. It had a futuristic style and with 30 horsepower a lot of power. Today, it's a real classic.

It's a legend in Europe and elsewhere (SA)... they weren't imported in large numbers to America. In total nearly 189,000 were built, saving BMW from receivership and takeover by Mercedes. The basic suspension design is the archetype for all modern BMWs, and regarding motorsport, these dominated their class for several years.

8steriegriffin may not know about or have ever seen one, but it's influence and importance in the company are hardly exaggeration.
