Joseph Khalil, a Southern Illinois University PhD student (degree expected May 2009), spoke in front of faculty and students of New School University's Graduate Program in International Affairs on the emergence of media cities in the Arab world, a part of a larger study that he has been working on. He was allotted approximately 45 minutes to make his points to the audience, with an additional hour to field any questions about his research. He was the first aspirant in the New School GPIA's Assistant Professor Candidate series, which aims to fill a new teaching position within the GPIA program.
