  • I am a Roman Catholic and am drawn to worship in the Orthodox Liturgy-

    Christ is Risen!

  • @phati129 I suspect that if one is raised on baroque Russian bad opera parading around as religious music, yes, Gregorian, a truly spiritual music, must indeed seem to "drag on forever."

  • @Kevin41581 you mean those things that drag on forever?

  • @evster69544

yes your right, because our Lord cares about which tone we must chant in.... I am byzantine rite and this is beautiful to me. Get your head out ur bum and open ur mind.

  • how majestic! Christos Anesti! Alithos Anesti!

  • It seems very shouted and hurried, and appears to border on really bad opera. I prefer the solemnity of Gregorian chant.

  • Christ is risen!

  • Being of non Orthodox ancestry, I admit to a bias in favour of 4 part harmony. However, well done Byzantine chant is hepful to worship. 4 Part harmony can get operatic which is not the intent of worship as far as I know. Unfortunately, I have only heard Byzantine done well in a few places.

  • what are you talking about!! unless you mean in a good way.
