it's too heavy........ I don't get it........ I can build an all aluminum plane of the same style and come in at 100 lbs less......... I don't get why this thing comes in at 850 to 870 light.......... too bad........other than that, it's a pretty cool bird........

I miss flyin' in that 1940 J-3. Just found out 2 days ago that my dear friend and instructor went down back in 2007. Helluva good man. Many thousands of hours, but like he told me, "It can take less than one to ruin your day." I got to thinking back about those days and found these Legend Cubs. They sure look to be built very well. All on 3d CAD. Amazing. One day....

Isn't this one of the aircraft that is at the center of the 51% rule controversy for experimental amateur built aircraft?

No, the Texas Sport meets the criteria of the FAA's 51-percent rule. It has been evaluated and approved for compliance as an amateur-built aircraft.

Are you implying that this LSA aircraft might not be legal???

The Texas Sport is an amateur-built aircraft, it is FAA certified. It can be flown with light-sport (or LSA) privileges.
