You can see the track and pulley system moving the signs. The two are not driving - they stand still.

Thanks to Caseen for the hint!

  • @GeminiKitten Gosh I don't get the point why you're so pushy...Even the bloopers are some kind of fun and you can enjoy them like the movie. This clip was not posted as accusal about movie mistakes...Calm down! You shouldn't take everything so seriously...Smile :)

  • @STEVEISMYBITCH

    That was real

  • its a mistake not a blooper bloopers are supposed to be funny

  • This is one of the most bizarre scenes I've even seen in a movie, I was like what part of the US has road signs pulled by a trolley on a railroad track? Then I find out that it's just a humorous gag used for film like the the chain coming out of the bottom of Pee-wee's bike.

  • All of this is because the original US VHS was presented "open matte" as in: without the same framing mask used in cinemas to cover up the top and bottom of the 1:33 frame, transforming it into a 1:85 frame. The new DVD corrects this showing the movie in an aspect ratio that doesn't let on to the "effects" outside of the frame, but this old VHS and cable broadcast master (my copy was taped off of Cinemax) has all this stuff in it still. And it's cool to see how they did it! So haters, halt!

  • They showed the chain coming through the bottom of bike bag on purpose. It's very obvious. Remember that this film is a comedy.

  • tell them large marge sent ya.lol

  • You people who are insisting that this was done on purpose should read the Wikipedia article on "open matte."

  • DUH.

  • LEAVE PEE-WEE ALONE! LEAVE HIM ALOOOONE!!
