why does UCLA taser their students for not showing an ID? UCLA is "suppose" to be a public school. ucla has their employees do all the dirty work. this officer(ucla employee) was just doing his job as ucla tells him to. ucla is above the law. ucla only wants Asian students. they do not want any African American, Spanish, or other outside races but Asian. That is because Asians are smart and will take the abuse quietly. ucla is racist.

Here it is spelled out for you. It's real simple. School makes rules. Student breaks rules. Security is called. Student becomes belligerent. Police are called. Student is given commands. Student does not comply. STUDENT MAKES THE CHOICE TO ESCALATE THE SITUATION (this is where the clip starts). Police give more commands. Student resists. Police deal with the situation. Clip is posted on youtube. Then a bunch of you start to bitch.

They tasered him because he was dark and had a weird last name. Excellent detective work UCPD. Idiots.

Good protest! I'm pissed off that he only got tasered four times too. Too bad he didn't resist a little more.

Glad to see the students actually doing somehting about it.
Do you think Mostafa was somehow targeted because of his racial heritage, or because he was breaking the law, ie: Causing a disturbance, and resisting. (I see your name is farsi so same racial heritage perhaps?)

I don't know. I wasn't there. I try to be objective. "farsi" is my last name so that's why that's there. It's not uncommon for Middle Easterns to feel like they're being picked out and usually for just reason--but honestly, UCLA is a diverse place and I think Iranians, Mexicans, Indians and other "brown" people all look alike so it's probably unlikely. Though, again, I wasn't there and I don't know. Police are told to do racial profiling in LA so I wouldn't put it past them.
