TUTORIAL: Fixing gpsPhone on 3.1.3 and 4.2.1 (NEW METHOD)

UPDATE 1: 4.2.1 Greenpois0n'ed users, rejailbreak using Greenpois0n RC5b6 or RC6 to really fix this problem easily.

This applies to:
iPhone 2G 3.1.2
iPhone 3G 3.1.2
iPhone 3GS 3.1.2
**iPhone 4.2.1/ iPod Touch 4.2.1 - Greenpois0n jailbreak**


If used PwnageTool or Greenpois0n 4.2.1 to jailbreak, this applies to you. If you used Blackra1n or Redsn0w, then this does not apply to you.

To fix 4.2.1 crashing, try boot tethered with RedSn0w 0.9.7b6 or untick everything from redsn0w then continue doing DFU mode steps, because it has something to do with GreenPois0n jailbreak that makes it crash like BlackRa1n.

this does not work...i did almost everything there is to do but gpsphone keeps crashing... i followed all ur steps watch 100000 other youtube vids but all with no luck...im using version 3.1.2 and i jail broke it with redsnow.

Ok, so I did this and followed most of it just fine. After I click "Make it rain" on blackra1n, my iPhone 3G does the usual, blacks out, apple logo comes up, connect to itunes, etc. After this point, instead of rebooting like yours did, mine goes into this black screen (but not completely turned off as the backlight stays on, keeping it a really dark gray more than a black), and the iPhone never reboots. I can restart it by exiting recovery but the gpsphone problem is still there.

What do I do?

Hhey i need help really bad my iphone is a 2g 3.1.3 and i just jailbroke it wit Whited00r to have 4.0 features but its stil runni 3.1.3 anyways i just bought Gpsphone off cydia and it does not work at all it open it and i click on a rom and just exits me out everytime WHat should i do!?! Mine keeps on after i download a game or rom i click on it and it shows the options landscape and portrait etc. but after i click one of them it returns to my homescreen HELP PLZ!!

@GadgetHacker I originally had 3.1.3 and i downgraded to 3.1.2, and i used blackra1n to jail break it but it was no good. gpsphone still crashed everytime i selected a rom to play.
