  • It has always been my practice to grab the slide palm down and racking the slide that way. My reasons are because if you ever get yourself in a situation to where you have to use your gun in a battle and have to reload, adrenaline will be pulsing and you lose your fine motor skills. But thats just my opinion. Good safety technics though!

  • Exactly!

  • I remember this one time I was being stupid and did not grip my kahr properly and I got slide bite and it was raining. So it WAS wet and bloody. Plus it is a ccw gun so the slide release pretty much ain't there.

  • yup..and if your hands are wet or bloody you dont want to depent on that little thumb slide release..its better practice

  • Actually you could lock the slide back with a full magazine but not chambered.

  • It is better to grab the slide firmly and release because all semi-automatic handguns will have a slide big enough to grasp. Not all have an accessible slide release. More uniform and simpler in my opinion.

  • good - except the title is how to load and UNLOAD a firearm - I guess you skipped the unloading

  • Although, however, when a pistols slide is locked back, it means the weapon no longer has anymore rounds...which is why he probably did not check, he started this video out with the slide already in the out of ammo/locked position

  • yeah, its funny too because in his other instructional videos he mentions checking the chamber several times....I guess it just passed his mind this time

  • i was thinking the same thing, what about the chamber check
