In this second clip from 'Ratcatcher' (1999) we see how the traditional social glue that kept the working class communities of Glasgow together loosens amidst the wider social breakdown of the 1970s.
How does the director Lynne Ramsay reflect this?
What indication of Kenny and James's characters are we given by the final sequence?

  • @rgpaddler its was Carl Orff - Musica Poetica by the way.Thank you for posting this.Beautiful - and as a man who has worked in factories, and forestry - i can confidently dismiss ego and say this clip brings a tear to my eye every time.Thank you

  • It was this part of the film that made me contact Lynne Ramsay to find out what the music track is - I think it was used in Badlands too.I think it is one of the most moving and empathetic movie sequences ever made - especially in context of the film, but also as a short sequence on its own.It brings back the dog eat dog enviroment of childhood too,I hated boys who pulled the legs of spiders and stamped on slugs. They were murderers as far as i was concerned.Well done Lynne Ramsey

  • but there's no air in space 0.o
