In 2010 Bon Secours Health System, Christus Health System, the Catholic Medical Mission Board and Caritas Peru joined forces to launch United Against Infant Mortality (Unidos Contra La Mortalidad Infantil) in Peru. United Against Infant Mortality is a World Health Organization (WHO) strategy aimed at decreasing the high incidence of morbidity and mortality in Peruvian children under the age of 5.
Key partners in United Against Infant Mortality are the Sisters of Bon Secours, the Sisters of Charity of Incarnate Word ministry in Chimbote, Peru's Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization. The partnership is intended to be a model for future expansion of the WHO strategy.
For more information on United Against Infant Mortality contact any of the partners.
