@occasionallysexycat Well, only a few named characters die and overall it was a Crowning Moment of Awesome Frickin' laser beams filled show. However, I do enjoy it and it is one of my top 5 mahou shoujo shows out there. This one on the other hand had NEARLY ALL of the main characters die left and right and that there might be even more of the people in the back ground who died. What is even more is that this show had so many High Octane Nightmare Fuel thrown left and right. Go to TvTropes man.

People act like this is groundbreaking among magical girl anime, but it really isn't. Sure, it was worth watching, but it was far from the only dark magical girl series. Besides, it wasn't even that dark.
