Some very nice photos from the 1964-65 World's Fair held in New York. In addition, I have included some of the advertising from the period. It seems the world was fascinated with what was going on there...and the Unisphere, along with the other attractions, was amazing.

My mom and aunt went, many moons before I was born, but they said it was fantastic.

  • So very well done. I find it so much nicer to immerse myself in the culture of that era than the current Babylonian decay.

  • That was when we still had the will to fight for right, a sense of morality, societal norms, modesty, grace, manners, decorum, and dignity.

  • I was there and it was mind boggling at the time.

  • It was intended that there would be a world's fair in New York every twenty-five years, right? 1989-'90 and, ...oh look, one coming up in 2014-'15!

  • Excellent Video! As a young child I visited the Fair repeatedly, brings back alot of great memories, as does the music and the ads, lol! Thanks so much for your fine work! :-)

  • Adding this to my classroom blog to teach my third graders about their neighborhood in Corona,F lushing Meadow Park. I also love the music and added history of photos etc. I was a kid during those years but unfortunately never went to the Worlds Fair.

    Thanks,

    MH

    Great job

  • that was awesome! thanks for posting!!!

  • I have a new two-part worlds fair video on my page. Yes, even though I was not yet three years old, I remember the fair. I took a camera around the Flushing Meadow just recently and made the two-part video on my own with an old worlds fair guidebook.

  • Nicely done, high quality slide show. Thanks for posting it. It brings back many memories.

  • Remember the horn on the Greyhound trolleys that played their theme song? "Take the bus and leave the driving to us?"

  • I was 4 some of my 1st memories

  • yep
