The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, from the album "Universal Mother" by IndiaJiva. Special thanks to Fred Aw for many of the 'Awsome' visuals. Apologies for the error in using the word 'Maaritat', in the written words, which should be 'Maamritat'. Instead of removing the video, as many are enjoying it, we have added this in the annotations.

  • 4:19am stumbled on this. What a pleasant music. Great video too. Great job. I will probably play this every morning I wake up going forward.

  • It's nice when people try to sing mantras in more modern way but they shouldn't change the original melody. Authors of these mantras had deep knowledge about vibrations and frequencies.Well, still better than that lady Giga or what's her name :D

  • This sounds too Western, IMHO, and I am Western. I prefer keeping it the way it is originally.

  • with love to All!

  • @chandra1085 Mantra is a vibrational pattern, that addresses a certain type of energy ...(as revealed to the sages of the past). Therefore the exact pronunciation is the very base of making the mantra effective. If you don t know how to chant the mantra properly, you are in a position of someone dialling a wrong telephone number. The way how to chant mantras have been prescribed and practised for millenias. Making pop songs out of them (without even knowing how to read them) makes them impotent

  • @violinoamore When a mantra is chanted in rhythmic tone with ups and downs, they create a melodious effect in the body . This effect can be defined as the Neuro-linguistic effect. The Neuro- linguistic effect will be possible even if you do not know the meaning of the mantra. Hence knowing the meaning of every mantra is not compulsory.

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • @sunlightblessing yes, its chanted at a faster pace generally.

  • i went to an ashram - they chant it with the same pronunciation as this song does - but a different pace

  • What about to first learn how to read and chant this mantra before attempting this kind of musical mish-mash ? How could you think that a mantra can work when you even don t know how to pronounce it ? :)) It is like if you want to sing some English song without knowing English. Very few people would understand you .. Mantra is not just a song. But because nobody knows - this kind of funny renderings overflow the "market"
