  • I once watched a countdown type show (Best 40 _) on the biggest tear jerking moments in film - this scene came up and a critic described it as "a horrible scene where a deaf child's father churns his way through a mediocre John Lennon song in some vain attempt at creating true emotion" - at that moment I wanted to jump into my tv and strangle him.Beautiful Boy is an amazing song and this scene does it credit because it is about a father saying to his son "I'm here to help you no matter what" imo

  • I first heard this song in this movie. And even though I like John Lennon's voice when he sings it better than I like Dreyfus's, I still like this version better.

  • this is such a good movie. My class watched this for American Sign Language. whoever saw this movie, do you realize that William H. Macy was the only one who did't age as the story went on?

  • Make me cry, this is so beautiful!!!

  • this scene made me ball like a little baby

  • Shut up about his voice people, even int he beginning he said he'd suck, so stfu!

  • 我看到這段差點哭出來了Q_Q!

  • B-e-a-utiful!

  • Terrific Acting by Heath Slater

  • Richard Dreyfuss may not be a great singer, but his performance is brilliant. I have never scene the movie, and still i was moved to tears. Of course there is much more involved in creating such a scene in a movie, it is not his credit only. TRUST!!! The editors have cut this to perfection, From the many shots the camera men caught on tape after numerous takes and retakes of the scene. SO BRAVO TO ALL INVOLVED. I wonder how Mr. OPUS feels about the performance, how close to reality?

  • awe.... heart warming

  • A great actor portraying a very talented music teacher he is. A singer he is quite clearly not.
