Khansus Ruml fights seasoned Combat Cards player Michalius Oppewall (in hyena form) last Sunday in a constructed league duel to the death. Commentary by game dev Doc Boffin. Music by Hakan Lidbo.
It is perhaps a disadvantage to me for Michalius to know how much I enjoy playing Eye for an Eye. I must admit, that after this match, and is cunning method of avoiding it, I have slightly begun to rethink parts of my strategy.
Khans discard attacks could easily have disrupted my three-turn combos, so this win wasnt as obvious as it looks. Although ending a match with health above the starting health would have been...
After I showed my big three-turn attack, I suspected Khan would play the Eye (especially as he had just finished a two-turn attack and had no energy to lose). So I played the sneaky Crew once, and checked his discard. He still had it, so I did it a second time, where he lost the Eye. So I could safely return to big attacks after that.
Again, near the end, a second Rip would have been blocked by Khan, so I rather thought to end the match with something new and unexpected.
Fun. Let me explain my gameplay. The very early attack was inspired by Doc's playing style. But I respect Khansus enough to think he wouldnt fall for it twice. This deck of mine has most of its strength in three-turn combos, so I needed a full hand after that.
My two-turn block was lucky to block most of Khans two-turn high attacks.
