I have a scan of a 1968 chart from KEEL in Shreveport, this was a #1 record there, beating out "Mony Mony" and "Tighten Up".

This is like winning the lottery!!! It is 1:52 a.m. and I have found this song completely by accident while searching 1960's playlists for radio stations in south Florida. I was CRAZY for this song back in the late 60's and I have been searching in vain for it (not knowing the Artist) for years! I finally found it here on YouTube 15 minutes ago. Thank you for posting this!!! You not only made my day, you made my year (2010) !!!!! I don't know what else to say!!!!!!

The Cherry People were originally the English Setters, not December's Children. Before becoming the Cherry People, the English Setters had one single played on local radio very briefly, "Wake Up".

This group was from the Washington, DC, area, and this song got some airplay on WEAM and possibly other local stations. The Cherry People, who had a national hit with "And Suddenly", had some local success under another name, and it may have been this group.
