The Pop legacy of Ennio Morricone!:

Calexico combines southwestern American roots music with Mexican styles. Inevitably this heads into Morricone territory. Nowhere is that clearer than this fine and haunting amble through the sage.

Calexico is also connected to Giant Sand, Friends of Dean Martinez, and Iron & Wine. This song comes from their second album, "The Black Light" (1998).

  • @MyGodzilla99 As one who spent most of his life in the Mojave Desert and a big fan of Calexico as it reminds me of home, you become influenced by what you experience around you and you learn to mix it into your own style. If you listen to heavily Mexican music, you'll notice it's different than Calexico's unique blend of style.

  • easily one of the best songs of all time
