Melissa R. was meant to win even before the show aired and Melissa wasn't supposed to tell anyone but she did so Robin fixed the show so that Asia would win instead. It was actually great that Melissa R. didn't win bcoz the PCD have split up and Asia quit to go solo so she just gave up an opportunity of a lifetime.
