The Oberlin Jazz Septet plays Dexter Gordon's tune Cheesecake. With Will Clearly on alto sax, Sullivan Fortner on piano, Charlie Higgins on guitar, Rachel Levin on trombone, Russel Manning on bass, Alex Ritz on drums and Miller Tinkerhess on trumpet.

  • He was 20 when this was recorded. He's now 23 and in his first year at the graduate program at Eastman.

    You would think, first off, that Oberlin students would know what would be taken as "too fast". It works great for this jazz piece, and kudos to that great Alto Sax player
