Hey dummy, you need to go up to 3/4 inch pipe and make the current 12 in long legs about 24 inches long. Your spring clamp idea is really a jewel of hillbilly engineering.
Ok I'm sorry for my last comment. I thought that my bike would always fall forward or backward. Today I messed around with it again and this thing is really legit. The trick is to make sure the pipes are all the way tight as this will rely on basic physics. This is made from really good materials guys. Make sure to remember how he said to lean it back a little bit.
Hey I like your bike stand but I have a big bike and it was hard to get it to stand up straight. I am lucky though because I have a shelf in my garage that I can lean it up against but if you guys have a big heavier bike then it might fall forward or backward. I think this is probably the best homemade bike repair stand on youtube however. I was wondering if you have anymore tips for a bigger bike like mine. What if you made a base on the opposite side with another 60 inch pipe.
