Sprint is by far the worst part of the race. If I'm not off the front in a Crit them I'm off the back where it's safe ;) I grew up in Bethel in the 80's. I remember the Danbury Crit but nothing in Bethel at the time.

The Bethel Spring Series started up in the early 90s. I was at the Danbury Crits - they were a bit sketchy at times (in the 3s). The winding backstretch was fun though.

I rode with a local club/team once or twice a week for a couple months (I was 15 so I was riding around for fun for a few years before that). When I felt I was "pretty good" I entered my first race and got completely annihilated. After 2-3 months of more group rides (and knowing what to expect in a race so therefore riding differently) I finally finished a race.
