Sorry - I'm with you most of the way, but his use of "you and me" in those two sentences was grammatically correct. "It makes you and I brothers" would be incorrect.

@gremlinn7 "You and I" would be highly incorrect, indeed. It is just a poorly-structured sentence. "It means that you and I are brothers" would be much smoother. But that wasn't really the point. The point was to raise a small, meaningless issue so that I could make the joke later about apologizing for his grammar while not apologizing for calling him an embarrassment to my country (the way he apologized for offending other religions but never admitted that what he said was wrong).
