  • Hey I say do whatever makes you happy..

  • @jianniestrong That is one of my points...black women are NOT happy with their hair. That is heart breaking. I think our hair is gorgeous.

  • Today, I was snubbed by someone who I thought respected my decision to go natural. She keeps telling me how pretty she can "straight iron" my hair, and french braid it using a ponytail weaved in. Today I wore a natural. She didn't even bother to speak to me. I doubt if she truly feels comfortable with me being natural. I use different colorful hair decorations to match my outfits. I don't care what they think, My DNA is certainly the genome of what makes me how I was designed to be created.

  • @slapme77times As always, the most intelligent response on the board!

  • @GhanianDoll When I see Black women with weave down their backs, I too, wonder what their REAL hair is like and if they have given any effort to caring for it. When we weave we damage our real hair, we damage our identity and we are saying (without using words) "we think YOUR hair is superior to OUR hair''. I LOVE the way black women's hair looks on BW and the older I get the more I dislike the way NON BW's hair looks on BW. It looks unnatural.

  • i perm my hair. but that is not the same as sewing on ling lings hair. lol. whatever makes u happy, say do it.

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll and without weaves and front wigs I mean before the day they were invented. Black women have always looked nice with the fros and other natural styles. It's nice to see what black women can do to style thier hair with their own touch rather than try and conform to what other races of women think is beutiful.

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll I wish I could like this comment a million times blake. I have always wondered what black women looked without the weave and lace fronts. Black women, in my opinion, do not look right with the wigs or weave. As if we have lost our identity. My philosphy has always been to keep things natural. We have seen how plastic surgeries have messsed up so many ppl and these weaves.. ugh it pains me to see them on black women. I like braids though :).idk but thanks for sharing.

  • @BlakeBarbieDoll most women aren't.

  • @slapme77times I am shocked at how many women of color are STILL embarrassed by their hair in its natural state. My goodness, what were BW doing BEFORE weaves and lace front wigs? To me, with very few exceptions, we look silly with our hair altered. I have no problem with versatility but I noticed when BW usually weave and chemically relax their hair, they PUT down or bad mouth natural black hair. I honestly think our natural hair is BEAUTIFUL!

  • @slapme77times MY FRIEND!!!!! God bless you and welcome back! How I have missed you!!
