@TheSerpentRising I don't think it's that others avoid these subjects...it's just that Nick especially like these subjects. maybe he watched too much horror movies growing up, or he grew up witnessing these things. I disliked the lyrics at first, and sometimes I still do now. I don't understand why he couldn't write "nicer" things to go along with these beautiful melodies and arrangements, but you know what, the lyrics are beautiful in their own ways too.

Interesting how the band don't mid touching upon what others would consider tabboo subjects, planned murder, rape etc. Not sure whether to dislike or respect them for this.
