On March 28th, 2008 James Arness was interviewed on radio. The conversation covered a variety of subjects from WW2, Gunsmoke, to his personal life. I have included links to the websites discussed in this interview and I encourage you to check them out. I dedicate these videos to everyone that has to deal with Cerebral Palsy. It is truly a touching interview!

  • Great interview. James Arness is a great actor. My 9 year old loves Gunsmoke.

  • My parents used to watch Gunsmoke when it was on Saturday night at 10:00 - just after my bedtime. I would try to stay up, in my bed, for an hour, long enough to hear the theme song. That was my lullaby on Saturday nights when I was a boy.

  • love love this handsome picture of him!!!!!!

  • RIP Marschall Dillon.

  • You are the best!! Rest in peace!!

  • Rest in peace to Mr. Arness and peace and blessings go out to his wife Janet and his family, Gunsmoke has allways been my number one favorite show and I love the character Matt Dillon but always the actor, James ARness. There will never be another show anywhere that cam come close to Gunsmoke. This was a family show and the Gunsmoke Family was just that. Mr. Arness will be missed greatly. My life is a little sadder with his passing, but his memory will allways live on and his light shine on.

  • James Arness breathed life into Matt Dillon. The names will forever be synonomous with Western law and justice. My favorite Gunsmoke episode was when Morgan Woodard guest starred as a bitter, old Marshal that actually had Dillon for a Deputy. Joan Van Ark played Woodard's daughter in the episode and at the end, Woodard finally recognized Dillon as "marshal" after they killed some outlaws that were trying to frame him (Woodard). The name of the episode? "Stryker."

  • Rest in peace to the greatest marshall the world has ever known.James Arness.

  • Sad to hear about the passing of this unique actor. There hasn't been a TV show like gunsmoke since; and the Matt Dillon character was the main reason why. Prayers go out to his family

  • Good Night Zeb.

    My childhood hero no1
