Walking to the dome car #10031 "Ocean View" on Amtrak's southbound Adirondack #68. In the video I pass through cars 1 and 2, and then up to the dome car on the lead of the train. We were seated in car 2, reserved for passengers getting off between Albany- Rennselear and Croton- Harmon. Car #1 is reserved for through passengers to New York- Penn Station. Amtrak's sole dome car "ocean view", #10031 is on the train. #10031 is a vintage dome car, and its original home was the Great Northern Railway. Amtrak runs the Dome on the Adirondack between October 1 through the 25 for the fall foliage, and then I hear it will operate on the Cardinal train numbers #50 and #51 between New York Penn and Chicago via Cincinnati. On the Adirondack "Ocean View" operates between Albany- Rensselear and Montreal. Here is #68's schedule southbound (train #68 is about 29 minutes late):

Port Henry, NY- 2:09 P
Ticonderoga, NY- 2:33 P
Port Edward- Glens Falls, NY- 3:30 P
Saratoga Springs, NY- 3:53 P
Schenectady, NY- 4:50 P
Albany- Rensselear, NY- 5:40 P
Hudson, NY- 6:30 P
RhineCliff, NY- 6:51 P
Poughkeepsie, NY- 7:05 P
Croton- Harmon, NY- 7:45 P
Yonkers, NY- 8:04 P
New York- Penn Station, NY- 8:40 P

  • That girl walking ahead of you looks nice.

  • @Trainlover4ever2006 wow lol. i didn't know her btw ;)

  • I love how there's almost nobody in the coaches. They're all up in the dome enjoying the view.

  • @murjax yeah this trip was a real insurance that people still love riding the rails. I heard one lady say "Im gonna travel amtrak a lot more often". And amtrak played the role perfectly, the train was relatively on time, the conductors were happy and funny, and it was a perfect fall day for some foliage watching.

    Another great trip with Amtrak!
