  • i will not be there 12/19 and so wont my friends and family as they stopped loging in pre 12/19 fuck youtube

  • Most people are sheep and couldn't care less about whether or not there is any freedom of speech on YouTube. As long as they've got their lowest denominator entertainment, they won't move on. YouTube is aware of this and that's why they ignore the pleas of those who do care about freedom of speech.

  • Yeah, and to no surprise, that's actually what's happening. And it will continue to happen, how I see it.

It's just unfortunate that YouTube, once this great thing, is shooting itself in the foot so badly.

But they'll probably regret it as soon as they see that people have moved on from YouTube.

  • When Wikipedia became censored, different groups created their own Wiki-pages. I've already seen some groups start their own YouTube-like pages as well. This is what probably will happen to all formerly known havens of free speech and objectivity when corporate or political interests lead to censorship.

Give it some rest and find your own new haven of free speech. As long as the Internet as a whole isn't censored, free speech isn't dead yet. It's just a matter of looking around...

  • These ideas are great, what sucks is that YouTube is too stupid to try these ideas.

  • It's taken so seriously because it's one of the last public forums of free expression. Sure, some people can say whatever they want on TV, but not everyone in the world is a TV star. Sure, Howard Stern can say whatever he wants on the radio, but not everyone is Howard Stern. YouTube USED to place where you and I could REALLY speak our minds, and now YouTube is being dumbed down. That's why it's treated as a big deal.

  • Hell yeah.

  • boycott hell! upload tons of stuff they hate! make it too difficult to censor.

  • Why do you cover your face ? Interesting videos. This is the 2nd video I'm watching of you. Now I'm learning more about what yt is doing.

  • Somehow I get the feeling that many people take Youtube way too seriously......

The whole Youtube community would be a perfect sociological study case, though, showing examples of various behavior such as bullying, bickering, threatening, clique formation, deception, rise of a dictatorship, political dissidence, religious strife, etc. Youtube is a goddamn microcosm.

But then again.... It's just an Internet community run by a greedy corporation. What did you expect?
