M.S. Subbulakshmi sings at the main temple at Tiruvannamalai

The recording was made when M.S. Subbulakshmi gave a charity concert at the Arunachaleswarar Temple, Tiruvannamalai, in about 1973 in aid of its renovation. This is accompanied by photos of Arunachala taken mainly by Dev Gogoi, and published in his book Arunachala Mountain of Light.

I have more than an hour of the concert, as what is on Youtube is edited down. Though quality is bad because of the small recorder taking from the PA system, if you are interested I could convert what I have to an mp3 and put it on a sharing site for you to download.

I have about 60 mins, and not continuous. It was recorded on a small recorder from the PA system and the batteries kept running down (local ones) hence the quality is not so good.

I was going to put some more on Youtube when I had suitable pictures to go with it. Am waiting on a friend for those.

The background pictures make this video very interesting.Love this.I feel like MS is there,singing while I am looking the temple premises.Great thinking,I feel like I am visting a temple town and listen MS's suprabhatam in the morning,Its a totally different feeling,you are reminded of your childhood,memories trickle down and manifest in front of your eyes.
