Silhouette revealed their new fusible interface sheets yesterday at CHA and demonstrated how they work. You can now cut fabric with your Silhouette cutter! Use the cutter to make fabric appliques and all kinds of other cool things.

  • What files can be used with the silhouette cameo thanks

  • @litttlemiss1439 I think you can use all the same files you could use with the Silhouette SD. You can also use .svg files.

  • would this machine work for ripstop nylon or cordura. and would you need the fusible on those particular fabrics?

    thasnks

  • @berkeley94608 You wouldn't want to iron the fusible onto nylon since nylon melts when you iron it!

  • @dollarcraft Sorry, but so does the actual interfacing. It too will melt if left unattended.

Maybe it's the type of fusible interfacing you are using for this particular machine. There are woven and non-woven interfacing (dacor bond fusible to name one) that are made for nylons, rayons and polys. And BTW lots of interfacings are made of nylonpolyester and nylon-polyester-rayon blends. go figure. both types I use for my company

  • @berkeley94608 Thanks for the extra info - I don't have a lot of experience with fusible interfacing.

  • thank you for your help

  • I was specifically asking if the machine could cut these fabrics, you know like the

blade pressure? could it cut through a piece of similar weight denim or 12oz. canvas and would it still need to be fused? I understand the fusible for lighter weight fabrics which is all that is shown in the demo video and I know there are machines on the market that cut heavier fabrics, we own one but is THIS machine capable of doing so? I would like to use it for a reverse applique machine.

  • so i am confused, which is the best one or the worst one (ecraft, silhouette or slice elite) pls anybody, answer me pls

  • Impressive
