No, the relic here isn't timed, but that one in Midas' Palace is.

why do such pathetic little rats take so long to die? you'd have thought one shot would do it!

Using standard pistols can never kill any of them within one shot only on hard without cheats. At least it needs two. I shot them from a long distance, so the damage was even lighter.

the boulder is actually used to break through the roof of the place with the water and big ass statues :P
