I'm a huge Joe Strummer fan but I've read many books and watched many clash documentaries to know that he was a bit of an arsehole when he was younger and you could argue he single handedly forced The Clash apart but I love him all the more cos he was only human and he made up for it in his later life with some beautiful music. Never has a more true spirit lived R.I.P

@andrew19vato cos so many people our age listen to such total bull shit that we who dont think were awsome for not. were an arrogant generation.

@wzaxx ok sorry, i knew he died obviously but i didn't know that was the reason.

The music of the Clash literally changed my life as a 17-year-old Catholic School boy growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Saw them three times: At the Hollywood Palladium twice with The English Beat in '83, and with The Who at the Coliseum in '84. To all you young people who are just discovering them: Good on ya. Joe was more than a rebel without a cause, he was a cause that was rebellious.
