This little opus all started with a photo that my grandfather took of a nomad bicyclist (who wore a pilot helmet and called himself "Spaceman"). Last summer, a conversation about this character led to the idea of making him the focus of a rock opera parody. Inspired by Bowie, Floyd, The Who and Jethro Tull, this was made by a group I was part of in a film class this spring.
All the music is performed by the filmmakers (Aaron Eisenberg, Trevor Ames, Andrew O'Neil, me) and the star (Jonathan Fortin).
The title is a phrase Pink Floyd used in their early days as a tonge-in-cheek motto.
The captions give you the option of reading the lyrics.
Shot for Cinema 310/316 at SF State.
