I know I made a few mistakes because I'm still a beginner. In this video I (Joonas "J1" Nieminen) play some parts of the following songs:

Meshuggah - Combustion
Meshuggah - New Millenium Cyanide Christ
Meshuggah - Personae Non Gratae
Meshuggah - Stengah
Nicole - Saavumme

Notes:
- I know I missed couple of snare hits in the Personae Non Gratae song (it's a very difficult song).
- I know you're suppose to play hihat pedal in the Stengah song but I found it impossible for me to play at this point. Maybe in the near future when I'm a little bit better.
- I'm wearing a custom made t-shirt of the band's logo called The Ballet Orchestra

Please don't bash me too harsh :D
Good advices are always welcome!

There is a :D -surprise in the end.

  • Let me give you a little advise bro drummer to drummer. See how your pedal is pointed down into your bass drum. You'll get a lot better sound out of your bass If you raise your front bass drum off the ground by extending your legs on the bass drum, till your pedals are flatly hitting the bass drum, and your pedals are straight up and down when you hit the head. It will make your bass drum sound even better.

  • I'll tell that to my little brother (it's his set), thanks!

  • Beginner my ass! You're really good!

  • I'm a beginner = haven't taken any drum lessons + that was my 2nd or 3rd year with a set of drums.

  • not bad but some parts where you are riding on the china you missed some crash hits, still some tight playing good job man

  • keep the bass drum flat and as level as possable just fix your pedals if you change the ange of the bass drum youll warp the batter side head, watch the many bob gatzen videos about adding horse power to your kit

  • yeah i learned that from a couple guys like russ miller and it made my bass drum sound as lot better and louder.

  • Then I guess you're going to be an amazing drummer, your skills are already impressive.

  • Well done. Great playing and choice of songs. I also really liked how you faded the song out and back in.

Oh. And the :D at the end was good. Haha.
